Intertops Poker room review

Intertops initially launched in 1983, but not as a gaming provider yet, is licensed by the Canadian Gaming Commission and is part of the HorizonPokerNetwork. This gaming company is as old as a mammoth in online gaming years being responsible for the first ever sport-bet made online in 1996. And two years later, in 1998, they catered to gamblers from around the globe launching one of the first online casinos in the world. At that time they used Microgaming as a game provider, but that changed in 2009 where they decided to partner up with Realtimegaming to provide over 200 different casino games to happy punters.

Between all that, given the success they had, they decided to offer online poker in 2003, making the company stand on three legs – Poker, casino and sports betting. Intertops never had any escapades and is considered as a reliable and trustworthy gaming brand, from 1983 till today!

Latest news & articles on Intertops

Intertops Poker Software

The interface of Intertops card room is on one side intuitive and straightforward, and on the other hand trying to lead you into playing casino games, which we don’t like. There are quite a few banners that are advertising blackjack, slots and co which are just noise when you want to enjoy a little round of poker. Besides that, the software is decent, allowing some customisations and a clean table layout with easy navigation.

Overall, we would describe the software as VERY simple, and suitable for the low-stakes grinder that wants to gamble around. If you are an advanced poker player we recommend other poker sites.

Mobile Poker on the Browser

Intertops does not have a poker app, but you can play from any mobile device that has internet on directly through the browser, no download needed. Whether you have an Android, iPhone or tablet, you can play Poker from your mobile at Intertops.

The design of their mobile poker platform is satisfying and simple, and hence allows easy navigation. Every game that is available to the pc-user is also playable from your phone or tablet, so you won’t miss anything.

Poker Game selection

I wish I could tell you that Intertops has thousands of No-limit Hold’em tables running around the clock, but that would be a lie. The action at this poker room is very time-dependent, almost inactive at times. In the morning hours you mostly see empty lobbies, whatever poker game you want to play, but in the evening hours, you will have no problems finding popular poker games running from stakes between $0.02/0.04 and $0.50/1.

For the low-stakes sit and go grinder though, this Poker room is a decent fit. Low competition and plenty games! However, if you fancy playing exotic games, or enjoy higher stakes cash games you should look for another online cardroom to play at as the action there is near zero. The poker room’s sole exotic game which finds participants at the low stakes is pot limit Omaha hi/lo.

Poker Bonuses & promotions

Intertops its promotional bonus offers are fantastic, one of the best the US-market has for poker players! As a new player, you will get 36% Rakeback from the start, and the best, you can get an additional 15-45% of rake back by joining their so-called FPPRace which is, in fact, a monthly rake race! When signing up and making your first deposit, Intertops will match your deposit by 200% up to $1000.

First deposit bonus

When depositing for the first time into Intertops, you will be eligible to claim a 200% up to $1000 Poker bonus. If you register and deposit $500 E.g, you get a $1000 welcome bonus. For every $27.xx you pay in rake, you will be rewarded $10 in rake back as long as the bonus is active. This welcome bonus is only for first time depositors (min. $25), and when depositing, you must use the bonus code 1000ITP to be eligible claiming this bonus.

Vip Program & Rakeback

If you want to receive Rakeback , you have to send an email to and adress that you want to claim Rakeback.
That might be a little inconvenient, but at least they do not decline any requests of players asking for Rakeback.

If you managed to send an email to request Rakeback, and they positively reply, you get 36% Rakeback, flat.

For every dollar, you pay in rake at Intertops you get five “frequent player points” (FPP), but if you claim Rakeback, you will collect FPPs at half the rate of a player who does not receive Rakeback. For every 100 FPPs accumulated, you will get a Gold Chip, which you can exchange into valuable good such as real cash, tournament tickets or bonuses.

Intertops also has a tier system, where you can climb up in ranks depending on how many FPPs you collect in a given interval. There are ten different ranks to achieve, 10 being the lowest, and 1 the highest. Once you reached to climb up one position, this rank will be valid for the next eight weeks, regardless of whether you play or not.

Weekly $4000 FPP race (Rakerace)

The FPP Race at Intertops allows you to compete with other players for a prize pool of $4000. The rules are simple; you must collect as many FPPs by playing real money poker games to climb up in the FPP leaderboard.

The goal is to obtain more points than your opponents and consequently rank 1# in the leaderboards of the Rakerace. Every week, 100 players get rewarded with a share of $4000. You are automatically participating in the FPP race by playing real money poker.

Intertops offers plenty of freerolls, whether you want to play a free tournament where you don’t need to deposit or want to take advantage of their bigger first depositor freerolls. Right after registering you can participate every day in four free tournaments called “$25 daily workhorse”. This special freeroll runs daily at 7:30 am, 1:30 pm, 7:30 pm and 1:30 am EST.

And then, there are three BIG freerolls, the Grand Central $100 GTD that runs on every Monday at 9 pm EST, the Uluru Sunset $100 GTD that runs on every Wednesday at 5 am EST and the Colosseum $100 GTD that runs on every Friday at 5 pm EST. All of these freerolls mentioned above do not require a deposit. However, if you make your first deposit of at least $25, you will be eligible to participate in the monthly $1000 GTD freerolls that are strictly for players who made their first deposit.

Intertops Poker room pros and contras

Like any online poker or gaming site, Intertops its Poker room has its benefits and a few drawbacks. This Intertops Poker room review covers both sides of the coin regarding software, bonuses, games offered, security, customer support and legality.

Soft fields

Given that there is not much incentive to play poker for a high stakes player, most of the players you will face are amateurs, and hence it is going to be super easy for you to take money off of your opponents.

Tournaments with small fields

Not everyone has the time and patience to endure a tournament that lasts for hours because it has 100s of entrants. At Intertops, you will find some soft poker tournaments with 30-100 registrants, allowing you to have a quick session!

Great for low-stakes players!

Intertops is one of the best poker sites when you want to grind your way up from the bottom. Easy opponents, 36% Rakeback right from the bat and a 200% first depositor bonus which translates to about 20% extra Rakeback.

Little traffic

This poker room is not suitable for the poker player that wants to play his favorite card game when he has time occasionally. You got to play according to when games are running, and that is not always.

Not the smoothest software

Not everyone has the time and patience to endure a tournament that lasts for hours because it has 100s of entrants. At Intertops, you will find some soft poker tournaments with 30-100 registrants, allowing you to have a quick session!

Country restrictions

Although you can play poker from most parts of the US at Intertops, you can’t play from within the following states: Maryland, Kentucky, New York, New Jersey, Washington, Lousiana and Missouri.
